Bible College is an institution of higher education that prepares students for all aspects of life, critical thinking, and ministry both in and outside of the Church. This is done by providing practical ministry opportunities, theological training, biblical studies, and academically challenging scholarship.
Bible College is the ideal opportunity for Christians who desire to learn, understand, and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord. Bible College cannot be compared to typical colleges in that it does not focus on traditional academic subjects such as English, mathematics, science, etc. Rather, it focuses on the teaching of the Word of God and practically applying it to life through the instruction and lessons weaved through each character, story, obstacle, and conquest found in Scripture. Bible College not only educates students but also helps them understand the depth of their need for God, how to develop their relationship with Him, and who they are in Christ.
Typically, students who pursue Bible College have their heart set on pursuing full or part-time church ministry. Others take classes for personal enrichment and growth. However, students who are interested in furthering their education are able to transfer their degree to accepting Christian universities such as California Baptist University, Azusa Pacific University, Life Pacific College, Biola University, and others.
Bible College is very affordable. Our classes range from as little as $60.00 to $180.00 per course, compared to your traditional college courses which typically cost several hundreds of dollars. We also offer financial assistance in the form of a payment plan for students who desire to take multiple courses during the semester but are unable to pay the full tuition costs up front.
Full-time students can earn their degree in an average of two to three years. Part-time students can take nearly double the amount of time. The time it takes depends on factors such as the student’s degree program of choice and their registration status as full- or part-time.
Normally, all students should have at least a high school diploma, GED, or its equivalent. However, a diploma is not required for students to take classes. Certificate programs are available for students who have not completed their general education through a secondary school, and dual credit for high school and college can be earned for certain high school students.
Our courses range from one to three class units at $60.00 per unit. First time applicants are responsible for a one-time cost of $25.00 for their enrollment application and a $25.00 registration fee for each semester.
Our teachers are mature Christians who are active in ministry, have been called and equipped by God, and who are gifted to teach their students. Not all instructors have a higher education degree, although many do. Nevertheless, our teachers have experience or other expertise in the fields in which they teach.
Our program has been described as academically challenging. Our mission is to provide students with a curriculum in various theological and ministry related themes that bring new insights and encourage their growth both academically and spiritually in hopes that students will have a deeper love for the Lord, His word, and His people.
Most classes are centered on books of the Bible such as: Genesis, Romans, the Epistles of John, Acts, the Gospels, Minor Prophets, etc. Other types of classes are considered elective courses and are supplemental in nature, focusing on biblical subject matters and ministry. Examples of such classes include: The Life of Christ, Church History, Christian Living, The Life of Paul, Systematic Theology, Apologetics, Cults and World Religions, Music/Worship classes, etc.
Unfortunately, we do not currently offer federal student aid due to our accreditation status. However, we do offer financial assistance in the form of a payment plan. Students who are interested in a payment plan must first meet eligibility requirements, and submit a signed Tuition Contract to the Registrar prior to the first week of classes in any given semester. More information about the payment plan can be found on our web page.
All classes are held on the CCCV campus.
Currently, we do not operate any satellite campus sites. We do not yet offer online courses either. We do have independent study courses such as our Old Testament and New Testament Survey classes that rely on MP3 recordings of the late Pastor Chuck Smith as the primary teaching tool for students.
We encourage and welcome students from all Christian churches to take Bible College classes with us. Interested applicants do not need to attend CCCV.
Classes are open to male and female students as young as high school freshman to retirees!
Semesters run for a total of 15 weeks long.
Except for the Old and New Testament Survey courses, Chapel services, and Practical Christian Ministry, most classes meet once per week starting at 7:00 pm. The duration of the class is dependent on the number of units the class is worth. For example, a two-unit class will have a class meeting time of two hours per week, starting at 7:00 pm and ending at 9:00 pm.
