All married, dating and engaged couples are invited to join us for our "Cherish" Couples' Conference on Saturday, August 12th from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Doors will open at 8:30am and the cafe will open at 9am for coffee and breakfast foods.
Speakers include Harold and Darlene Sala, Pancho Juarez and Joseph Rosales.
Childcare is not provided for this event. The cost is $20 per couple; you may register online or at the gazebo through August 9th.
We will offer ASL interpretation.
Harold and Darlene Sala - Dr. Harold J. Sala, well-known speaker, author and Bible teacher, has served as founder and President of Guidelines International, Inc. since 1963. He is a well-loved counselor and Bible teacher. Dr. Sala is the featured speaker on “Guidelines: A Five-Minute Commentary on Living” which is broadcast daily from over 1,300 radio stations around the world in a variety of languages. Dr. Sala has authored over 50 books and booklets published in various languages.
His wife, Darlene, a popular national and international conference speaker, has had an active ministry role as pastor’s wife, counselor, Bible teacher, missionary, musician and author. Her books Created for a Purpose – Hope for the Woman Struggling with Self-Esteem and Encouraging Words for Women have been bestsellers and are published both in Asia and the United States.
Harold and Darlene have been married for 52 years. They have three adult children, Bonnie, Steve, and Nancy, and eight well-loved grandchildren.
Joseph Rosales - Joseph Rosales has been trained and discipled in ministry under his father, Pastor David Rosales, at Calvary Chapel Chino Valley. The church began in 1981 when Joseph was just four months old, making him one of the original members of the fellowship. Having been raised in the church, Joseph developed a strong conviction and desire to deepen his knowledge of the Word, and at age 24 began a two-year program in Biblical Studies at Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA. Then in 2007, he began the five-year nursing program at Biola University in La Mirada, CA. During this time, Joseph gained further experience in both leadership and discipleship, and had the opportunity to extend his Biblical Studies program to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Theology. In 2012, Joseph received his Bachelor of Science, Nursing. He currently works as a Registered Nurse for a local hospital, with advanced skills in Telemetry/Cardiology and Oncology. In his five years of nursing, Joseph has been blessed with countless opportunities to minister to his patients, desiring to impact the workplace for Jesus Christ.
Joseph has been married to his wife, Karina, since 2010. Together they have served in young adult ministry, and love ministering to dating, engaged, and young married couples.
Pancho Juarez - Pastor Pancho is the Senior Pastor of Calvary Chapel Montebello. Having served his country during the height of the Vietnam era, Pancho received his honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps. Upon his military release, he immersed himself in alcohol and drug abuse, and womanizing. In 1975, he was invited to a “rock” concert at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa by his former girlfriend, Millie, and gave his heart to the Lord that night. Although he could not read properly, he had an awakened desire to go to college and graduated from East Los Angeles College in 1980, now a prolific reader. He attended a local church for four years, then was trained and discipled at Calvary Chapel West Covina, under Raul Ries for 11 years. In 1991, after being called to begin a home fellowship in his hometown, the East L.A. area, and began Calvary Chapel Montebello. Pancho continues to share his straight-ahead, straight-up style of teaching. He has been married to Millie for 39 years; they have five children.
