Hurricane Harvey may result in the largest hurricane disaster in US history. As a church body, Calvary Chapel Chino Valley desires to do all we can to assist in the recovery. The Calvary Chapel Association (CCA) is working toward bridging those in need and those who desire to help, and we are committed to standing with the Calvary Chapel churches in South East Texas as they reach out to their communities.
We are currently assessing the needs, but there are some immediate ways that you can act.
First, you can donate directly toward the Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund. 100 percent of your donations will go directly to the relief effort, and provide monetary support where it is most needed. Follow the link below where you will be directed to the Calvary Chapel Association, and donate online. You can also write a check and drop it in any offering box on campus. Please make checks payable to Calvary Chapel Chino Valley (CCCV), and in the memo write “Hurricane Harvey Relief.” We will then collectively send the funds to the CCA, which will be distributed to the relief effort.
Second, we have assembled a team of men and women to be part of the disaster relief effort. They will have opportunities to clean out homes, reconstruct, cook and minister to the people of Texas. We will be partnering with Calvary Chapel Baytown as there is a great need for help in their area. The team will be traveling from October 11th - October 17th.
Spaces are full, but we are taking a wait list. Please call our church office at (909) 464-8255 for more details.
Third and most importantly, please pray for those who have been affected by the disaster. Some families have lost everything, and are left questioning how they can move forward. Pray for the team that we are sending out, and for any new ministry opportunities that may arise.
Thank you for desiring to give above and beyond your gifts to your home church, and considering how you can help those in South Texas.
>At the moment, we are not taking food/clothing/supply donations. Our contacts have stated that monetary donations are best so that the funds can be used to purchase what is most needed in/around Houston, instead of waiting on donations to be shipped and distributed.
