On Sept. 24, a team of 16 from CCCV traveled to Tijuana to join with Spectrum Ministries to provide free baths to children in an area that has no running water or electricity. Funny how we take it for granted when we turn on the hot water in our showers, we don't even think about it. Ironically, because these families live outside the city, in a remote area, it is more expensive to purchase water. Therefore, it is valuable and scarce. Some of the children are able to take showers only when the ministry makes it way back to their area. Sometimes that can be as long as six weeks. The kids were also able to get hair cuts, some fruit, a toy and the parents were blessed with a variety of vegatables. Though Americans travel on trips like this with the idea that we are there to bless, it is we that are blessed by the appreciation, the humbleness and hospitality of the residents of Tijuana. If you've never been, keep an eye out for the next trip. The Lord will bless.
