Bible Re-Covering

California Prisons do not permit any hardback books into their facilities and it is for this reason that we have partnered with Gideon International to re-purpose the Gideon Bibles they have donated to us.  Bible Re-covering takes place on a Saturday, once a month on the patio area from 8:00am – 11:00am. The process of re-covering these Bibles happens in 6 work stations.

1st station – This group flips through the pages of the donated Gideon Bibles looking for any inappropriate writing, damage, or added content.

2nd station – Tears off hard covers from the binding by hand.

3rd station – Folds the brand new soft covers and preps them for station 4.

4th station – Glues soft covers onto the spine.

5th station – Sets out each Bible for drying.

6th station – Packs and boxes the Bibles for shipping.

After 3 hours of working together and fellowshiping, this ministry finishes between 1,200-1,500 Bibles. These Bibles are then shipped to several different prisons throughout California with the desire to bring inmates hope and freedom in Christ.
