What to Expect

From Monday, July 13th through Friday, July 17th, kids

entering Kinder through 6th grade in the 2026–2027

school year who are ready for high-speed adventure

will hit the track for an unforgettable week-long VBS

experience.


Each day from 8:15am to 12:00pm, they’ll race into fun at

Calvary Chapel Chino Valley with high-energy, race-themed

activities, creative crafts, and pit-stop snacks to keep them

fueled for the day.

Upbeat music, live skits, and fast-paced fun will keep the energy

moving as young racers make new friends in the ultimate VBS

"Grand Prix.” Along the way, they’ll take part in engaging lessons,

hands-on activities, and meaningful discussions, learning what it

means to do all things for the GLORY of God—like the ultimate

finish line worth chasing.

Things to Remember

Cell Phones

Cell phones are not permitted and may

be confiscated if seen, however, they

will be returned at the end of the

program.

Attire

Please have kids wear sunblock and

closed toe shoes. Kids will spend time

outdoors and in the sun.

Water Activities

VBS will include activities with water, so

we ask that kids avoid wearing white.

Costumes

Costumes should be modest

and costume masks and props

are not permitted. Please leave

toy weapons at home.

Check-In & Pick-Up

1. Begin at the Gazebo at 8:15am each day of VBS.

2. Receive your kiddos KidCheck label and your Guardian Receipt. Please note that the Guardian Receipt is needed to pick-up your child.

3. Head to the Sanctuary to drop off your kiddo with their group guide for the day.

Steps for Pick-Up

Pick-up is in the Sanctuary at 12pm.

  • Find your child's group.

  • Show your Guardian Receipt.

  • Don't forget your child's craft!

  • Provide the Group Guide with the first and last name of the person picking up.

  • The individual picking up your child will need to present their Driver's License.

TIP: Take a picture of your Guardian Receipt in case the physical receipt is lost.

Serving

Serving at VBS

From serving as a group guide with the kids, to painting the stage set and

 everything in between, there are many areas where you can serve at VBS. Adults

 and youth going into 7th grade are welcome to be a part of our amazing VBS

 team, permitting they meet the following requirements.

Requirements to serve:

  • Consider CCCV your home church and have attended for 6 months or more.

  • Have a current Ministry Application or Kids Ministry Event Application on file.

  • Receive approval from the Kids Ministry Administration.

  Make sure to sign up by Wednesday, July 1st and submit an event application


(If applicable) to be approved in time for the VBS All Servants Meeting.

Moms! As your kiddos enjoy this year’s VBS, join like-minded moms for a morning of devotion, encouragement, and crafting! If you are a

first-time VBS mom or traveling a great distance to Chino Valley, the Charis Women’s Ministry invites you to join other moms for a sweet time

of fellowship after checking in your kids. Moms are seated on a first-come-first-served basis and seating is limited. Let us know if we can

expect you to attend and we’ll save you a seat!

FAQ

What is VBS, what does it stand for, and what is the goal?
VBS stands for Vacation Bible School. It is an event held annually during summer break and will occur in the morning, 8:15am-12pm, for 5 days in a row, Monday through Friday. The goal is to reach kids in our community with the hope of salvation through Jesus Christ and equip them with Biblical truth while engaging in fun, themed activities.
Who can attend VBS?
  • VBS is open to all children in the community going into K – 6th grade in the 2024-2025 school year. Kids are welcome to invite their friends and kids of the same grade can request to be together at the time of registration.
  • Kids in Pre-K or TK will need to wait until they are entering kindergarten to participate.
  • We are delighted to welcome kids with special needs to participate, however, to ensure we can make accommodations for your child's needs, please contact the Kids Ministry office prior to registering.
How do I register and is there a cost to attend?
  • Registration is online through the CCCV website until Saturday, July 12th. In-person registration will be available Sunday, July 13th at the VBS tent in the courtyard and at the Gazebo each morning of VBS. There is no cost to attend this event, however, themed t-shirts are available for purchase to help support the program.
Can I register my child with special needs?
  • We are delighted to welcome kids with special needs to participate, however, to ensure we can make accommodations for your child's needs, please contact the Kids Ministry office prior to registering.
Do kids get a shirt if they register?
  • T-shirts are available for purchase.
What does a typical day of VBS look like?
  • Once you check in your kids with their assigned group guide, they will engage in interactive live worship and be introduced to the day’s Biblical theme through a live action skit before heading off to stations where they will have a devotion, be served a snack, create a craft, and play outdoor games. Some activities take place indoors and some are outdoors. The program begins and concludes in the Sanctuary.
Do my kids need to bring anything?
  • Kids are not required to bring anything but smiling faces and hearts ready to brave the action-packed day!
Can my kids bring their cell phone?
  • No, cell phones are not permitted. If seen, the phone will be given to a leader and returned to the individual at the end of the program.
Will Food be Provided?
  • A snack is provided each day for the kids. Details regarding each snack are listed in our VBS advertising. If your child has food allergies or dietary restrictions that prevent them from participating in the snack provided each day, you are welcome to pack an alternative snack for them according to the following guidelines.
  • All alternative snacks must be pre-packaged in a disposable container and ready to serve. We cannot refrigerate, assemble, or heat any food items.
  • Please clearly label your kiddo’s snack with their first and last name and grade.
  • When checking your kid in with their group guide, please inform them of the alternative snack that will be left in the Banquet Hall with the snack team.
  • After checking in your child, take the alternative snack to the Banquet Hall and give it to an assigned snack team servant. Make sure the snack is labeled appropriately with their first and last name, along with their grade.
Is my child required to dress up?
  • There are optional themed dress-up days your kids can participate in but are not required to. Please take into consideration the warm weather and outdoor activities your kids will participate in when choosing their attire. All kids should wear sunblock and closed-toe shoes.
How do I check my kids in and out?
  • CCCV uses KidCheck for checking kids in and out. It is highly recommended that new participants create a KidCheck account prior to VBS. Registration servants will be available to assist parents in making KidCheck accounts during VBS.

  • Each day of VBS check in starts at the Gazebo at 8:15am. After receiving your kiddos KidCheck label and your guardian receipt, you’ll head to the Sanctuary to drop off your kiddo with their assigned group guide for the day. The group guide will initial your guardian receipt and ask for you to write your first and last name on their check in sheet.

  • Make sure to return to campus at 12pm for pick up in the Sanctuary. Your guardian receipt that was signed at the beginning of the day must be presented for pick up. We encourage you to take a picture of your signed guardian receipt in case the physical receipt is lost.

  • If you drop off your kiddo but another individual will be picking them up, make sure to provide the group guide with the first and last name of the person picking up. The person picking up your kiddo will need to present their driver’s license at the time of pick up to verify their identity.
What if I need to pick up my child early?
  •  the case of a family emergency your child may be picked up when necessary. Once arriving on campus, visit the Gazebo and a leader can help locate your child’s group for an emergency pick up.
As a parent, can I stay and watch?
  • You’re welcome to take a seat at the back of the Sanctuary to join us for worship and enjoy the skit. At the conclusion of the daily skit, we ask you to leave campus for the safety of all the kids in attendance. Only approved VBS servants and church staff are permitted to be on campus at the conclusion of the skit until the end of the program.
Can I serve at VBS?

  • Your application must be reviewed and approved by the Kids Ministry Administrator.
Can my child miss a day? Will they be behind if they do miss a day?
  • Of course, we would love to have your kiddo attend every day of VBS, but we understand that other commitments sometimes limit their participation. Kids are welcome to attend on the days they are available. Each day of VBS contains a unique teaching, skit, craft, snack, recreation activity, etc. that is specific to that day. Kids not attending each day will miss part of what has been planned for them.
Is there homework for the kids to complete or verses to memorize?
  • There is no homework that needs to be completed, however, we highly encourage kids to practice the VBS memory verse at home with their families!
What do you have in place for the kids’ safety?
  • CCCV is gated and will have security personnel serving the entire duration of VBS.
  • Security is present to monitor the campus and to ensure that only approved servants and church staff remain on campus at the conclusion of the skit.
  • All individuals not approved to remain on campus must leave at the end of the morning skit.
  • Every servant is screened and goes through an approval process.
  • A registered nurse is on stand-by during the entire duration of VBS to care for first-aide needs.
