The Audio Engineer works and assists in all areas that have production needs, such as live services, events, and recordings. This includes media preparation and compilation, equipment setup, and soundboard operation. The engineer is able to perform all tasks necessary to meet the desired requirements.

Job Responsibilities and Duties 

Essential functions of the job may include but are not limited to the following:

Operate soundboards for services and events

Set up multiple stages and sound systems for services and events

Engineer Pro Tools sessions for weekly recordings 

Utilize audio editing software to optimize content quality for podcasts, radio spots, and YouTube

Assemble media (video, audio, teaching notes, worship backgrounds) within ProPresenter

Communicate with Technical Director and Lead Production Engineer in order to appropriately prepare for services and events

Engage in equipment maintenance when necessary

Required Knowledge and Critical Skills

This position must possess the knowledge, skills and abilities to be able to successfully perform the essential functions of the job or must be able to demonstrate how the essential functions will be performed (with or without reasonable accommodation) using other knowledge, skills and abilities not listed below:

Technical aptitude

Critical thinking and problem solving

Knowledge of audio/video files and formats

Extensive knowledge of signal flow, routing, troubleshooting, microphones, wireless microphone systems, patch bays, cables, sound boards, frequencies, and stage setups 

Excellent communication skills. Works well with musicians, guest artists, team members, servants, congregation, and supervisors.

Ability to fulfill any duties or positions needed on the tech team (video, sound, lights, CG, etc)

Computer Skills:

Strong troubleshooting abilities with computer hardware and software

Expert knowledge of both Windows and Mac OS

Ability to use Microsoft Office 365, ProTools, ProPresenter

Required Qualifications: 

Minimum education requirement: 

High school diploma

Minimum years of relevant work experience: 

1 year experience in Live Audio / Recording Studio

Preferred Qualifications: 

Preferred education includes: 

Degree / Certificate in Audio Technology

Preferred work experience includes: 

2 year’s experience in Live Audio / Recording Studio

Required Hours: 

Full time, 40 hours a week. Must be available to work any shift assigned (day, night, holiday and weekends)
