
Dare to Be Different is a mentoring program designed for married couples to learn and develop healthier communication problem solving skills. Caring facilitators (mentors) will assist you to learn how to implement these communication skills.
Curriculum: The Dare to Be Different Marriage Mentoring Guide (D.A.R.E.: Discover, Ask, Require, Evaluate) will be used to strengthen families by empowering marriages. It is based on biblical principles, loyalty and family unity. You will be encouraged to develop a stronger relationship with God.
• Discover – To discover issues identified from the Dare to Be Different survey.
• Ask great questions – You will ask questions which will result in finding solutions to problems.
• Require Action – As you come up with a plan, you will be held accountable for your commitments.
• Evaluate the Progress – You will be helped to develop healthy communication and problem-solving skills throughout the mentoring process.
Commitment: The curriculum is based on nine sessions however the number of sessions will be determined by the couples’ schedules and availability. Meetings will be set up on a mutually-decided time – either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, until the workbook is complete.
Cost: Once your application is approved, there will be $50 fee per couple which covers the survey and materials.
