Friday Evening Prayer

On the fourth Friday of the month from 7:00-9:00pm, in the High School Room, we gather as a church for a time of focused prayer, worship, and encouragement from the Word. Everyone who desires to meet with the living God to pray for our families, church, and country is welcome to come. Childcare is not provided. Since we, as Christians, are in a spiritual battle, we must use spiritual weapons to fight. That weapon is prayer!

Luke 5:16 says that Jesus “often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” Our Lord and Savior approached God the Father in prayer often, because He understood the intimacy and power in it. Later Jesus’ disciples asked Him to teach them something, not how to preach or how to do miracles but rather how to pray! They saw something powerful, beautiful, and sublime in Jesus’ prayer life, and they wanted that also. It is said of the early Church in Acts 4:31, “And when they had prayed, the place where they were assembled together was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke the word of God with boldness.” The Lord wants to send fresh revival to His Church, but not without assembling ourselves in corporate humility and desperate prayer.

‍The evangelist Leonard Ravenhill said, “For this sin-hungry age we need a prayer-hungry Church. Prayer does business with God. Prayer creates hunger for souls; hunger for souls creates prayer. The understanding soul prays; the praying soul gets understanding. To the soul who prays in self-owned weakness, the Lord gives His strength.”
