Marriage Mentoring

Our marriage mentoring ministry is for married couples, who attend CCCV, and would like to learn to communicate in a healthy way. Couples will learn the “round the bases” technique which is designed to help couples communicate effectively and discover solutions. Couples’ will also learn to identify threats, transform expectations, and take responsibility.

We use the Dare to be Different curriculum, which is designed to explore your relationship with unbiased, caring facilitators (mentors) who can invest in helping you to build a strong, life-long marriage.

This ministry is based on biblical principles, loyalty, and family unity, and will strengthen families by empowering marriages. You will be encouraged to appreciate the importance of commitment, as well as ways to appreciate and embrace your differences.

Curriculum: The DARE to be Different curriculum will encourage you to develop a stronger relationship with God using this method:

Discover – To discover issues identified from the Dare to Be Different survey.

Ask great questions – You will ask questions which will result in finding solutions to problems.

Require action – As you come up with a plan, you will be held accountable for your commitments.

Evaluate the progress – You will be helped to develop healthy communication and problem-solving skills throughout the mentoring process.

Commitment: The curriculum is based on ten sessions, however, the number of sessions will be determined by the couples’ schedules and availability. Meetings will be set up on a mutually-decided time – either weekly, bi-weekly or monthly, until the workbook is complete. Mentee couples will meet in the mentor couple’s home, based on proximity and availability. Childcare is not provided.

Cost: Once your mentor request application is approved, there will be $50 fee per couple which covers the survey and materials.
